PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of programs and services to increase technology awareness and effective use throughout the curriculum to address the diverse learning needs of all students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelors degree. A minimum of a valid Collegiate Professional Certificate (teaching license). A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience and experience in technology-related positions. Proficiency in business English; spelling, grammar and spoken language. Proficiency in the use of a variety of office machines including computers with experience in Microsoft Office, email and other applications. Possess NETS*T Certification or willing to complete NETS*T Certification within two years of assuming the Technology Resource Teacher position. Emotionally mature, objective and sensitive to people and their concerns. Able to handle responsibility, work independently, and maintain good working relationships with students, families, staff, co-workers and community agencies. REPORTS TO: Supervisor for Instructional Technology (in consultation with the Director of Exceptional Children's Services) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides support to the classroom teacher through collaboration, coaching or modeling for the effective integration of technology tools and resources to support instruction in the classroom. Promotes the use of technology in the core curriculum program to address the diverse learning needs of all students. Coordinates the development of a technology-related curriculum to address the diverse learning needs of all students. Coordinates school-community technology projects. Selects and develops technology-enhanced materials and resources related to the educational program to address the diverse learning needs of all students. Stays informed of new computer education materials and equipment. Examines and recommends technology materials to appropriate school personnel. Provides leadership in developing and promoting technology educational objectives to address the diverse learning needs of all students. Participates in the development and implementation of technology professional development, including workshops for students and staff. Participates in staff development of self and others. Works with division instructional supervisors to coordinate and implement technology resources to support the core curriculum. Communicates with parents and the community the goals of technology in the school. Reviews annually existing district license software for utility and cost-effectiveness. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintains appropriate state licensure; assumes responsibility for and participates in staff development (professional growth) and training to keep materials, supplies, and skills up-to-date. Follows appropriate safety procedures and properly maintains equipment. Responds to telephone, email and in-person requests, inquiries and questions in a professional, polite and responsive manner. Demonstrates good attendance and punctuality. Attends all required meetings. Maintains confidentiality in all matters. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities. Respects the worth, dignity and individual differences of others. Complies with and supports school division policies, regulations and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor for Instructional Technology and/or Principal (in consultation with the Director of Exceptional Children’s Services). PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT: Light work, lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. Stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch. Regular contact with staff members and administrators is required.
